Does the money for Gifts for Life really go to the projects?Updated 4 months ago

Yes. Each Gift for Life is linked to a specific project run by The Leprosy Mission. Monies generated through Gifts for Life are transferred to the specific project.

Please note that the projects often have a variety of activities going on to help people affected by leprosy, and therefore your chosen Gift for Life may not be the only way the project is helping people. For example, in Sri Lanka, our partners are providing chickens to families affected by leprosy. Within the same project, they are also providing agricultural training. Therefore, your money will go to the specific project in which your gift is being given, but how the money is used within the project will be dictated by where there is the greatest need rather than which Gift for Life is the most popular. Otherwise the project could end up overfunded for chickens but underfunded for agricultural training as one example.

So you can be confident that the money you give really is going to the project to which your Gift for Life is linked. If, wonderfully, a project is already fully funded, your donation will be transferred to a similar project.
